General Insurance in Delhi Vehicle, Home, and Travel Cover Without the Guesswork

Many families in Delhi carry no home insurance on a valuable flat and renew their vehicle policy for the cheapest option without checking the IDV. Our team reviews every general insurance cover in your portfolio and helps ensure nothing is under-insured.

General Insurance Is the Protection Most People Buy Last, and Regret Later

Most clients who come to us have life insurance and sometimes health cover, but their general insurance is an afterthought. A vehicle policy renewed for the cheapest option every year. No home insurance despite a significant property asset. No travel insurance despite regular international trips.

General insurance covers the things you have already built: your car, your home, your business premises, your belongings. It does not replace income or pay for hospitalisation. It prevents a single event (a theft, a flood, an accident abroad) from reversing years of wealth building.

General insurance is not a commodity renewal. It is the last layer of a complete financial protection plan. Complete your family's financial protection with life insurance, and start with a full portfolio review.

Vehicle Insurance: Beyond the Legal Minimum

Third-party vehicle insurance is legally mandatory under the Motor Vehicles Act, but it covers only liability to others, not damage to your own vehicle.

Setting the Right IDV

IDV (Insured Declared Value) is what the insurer pays on a total loss. Many buyers undervalue the IDV to save a modest amount in premium, then receive a lower payout if the car is stolen or written off. We verify the correct market-value IDV before every renewal.

Zero-Depreciation Add-On

Standard policies deduct depreciation on replaced parts. Zero-dep reduces or removes that deduction. For cars under about five years old, the add-on is often worth evaluating against the first significant repair.

Delhi NCR Specific Add-Ons

Engine protection cover is worth considering in flood-prone areas of Delhi NCR: waterlogged roads during monsoon can cause engine damage a standard policy excludes. We recommend add-ons based on your vehicle's age and usage geography.

Home Insurance: The Cover Most Delhi Homeowners Skip

A valuable flat in Delhi NCR carries meaningful risk exposure: fire, water damage, burglary, natural disasters. Home insurance is often one of the lowest premium-to-cover ratios in any insurance category, yet a small minority of urban homeowners in India carry it.

Two components matter: structure cover (the building itself, more relevant for independent house owners) and contents cover (furniture, electronics, jewellery, and valuables inside the flat). For renters, contents cover is the relevant product since you own none of the building structure.

We map your property situation (renter, flat owner, or independent house owner) to the right cover type. Your health insurance and your home cover should both be reviewed at the same annual meeting.

International Travel

Travel Insurance: Skipping It on an International Trip Is a Calculated Risk

A medical emergency abroad (appendicitis, a road accident, or a cardiac event) can be very costly in destinations like the US, UK, or Singapore, often running into a large multiple of what a travel insurance premium for the same trip would have cost.

Beyond medical cover, travel insurance can protect against trip cancellation, missed connections, lost luggage, and passport theft. For clients who travel internationally more than twice a year, an annual multi-trip policy is often more cost-effective than buying per-trip.

We help ensure the medical cover limit matches your destination: some destinations, including the Schengen zone, require valid travel insurance as a visa condition, and US/Canada trips typically warrant a higher medical cover limit given local treatment costs.

Our Approach

How Our Team Handles General Insurance: One Relationship, All Your Covers

General insurance is the one financial product most people manage reactively: renewing the vehicle policy because the insurer sent a reminder, ignoring everything else. We integrate general insurance into the annual financial review rather than treating it as a standalone transaction.

At each review, we verify vehicle policy IDV and add-ons, check home cover adequacy, and flag travel needs for the year ahead. The same relationship that manages your mutual fund portfolio also handles your vehicle and home cover, so no gap falls through the cracks.

Our team is IRDAI-recognized to advise on general insurance categories. You reach a credentialed member of our team directly, not a call centre, and not a rotating pool of junior sales staff.

General insurance covers non-life risks: vehicle (comprehensive and third-party), home and property (structure and contents), travel (domestic and international), and commercial or business insurance for self-employed clients. We manage all of these as part of one ongoing relationship alongside mutual funds and life and health insurance, rather than as separate, disconnected transactions.

Zero-depreciation (zero-dep) means the insurer pays the full cost of replacing damaged parts without the depreciation deduction a standard policy applies. For a car under about five years old, this can meaningfully increase what a repair claim actually pays out. For most vehicles in that age range, the modest additional annual cost is generally worth it.

IDV is the current market value of your vehicle: what the insurer pays if it is stolen or declared a total loss. Undervaluing the IDV lowers your premium slightly but reduces the payout on a total-loss claim. We ensure the IDV is set at correct market value at every renewal rather than accepting an artificially reduced default.

Yes, typically. Your housing society's building insurance covers the structure, not your flat's interior: furniture, electronics, jewellery, and personal belongings are generally not covered by that policy. A separate contents insurance policy closes this gap and is relevant for both owners and renters. It's also worth noting that Delhi sits in Seismic Zone IV, a relatively high-risk earthquake zone under India's national seismic zoning, which adds to the case for reviewing what your society policy actually excludes rather than assuming it's enough. Nationally, only around 1% of Indian homeowners carry a home insurance policy at all.

For some destinations it's a visa requirement; the clearest example is the Schengen area, where a minimum of €30,000 in travel medical coverage is mandatory for the visa. For other destinations it's optional but worth having given the potential cost of medical treatment abroad, which can be substantial relative to a typical travel insurance premium for the same trip. We size the cover to the destination, trip length, and traveller's health profile.

Yes. Our team is credentialed to guide clients on both life insurance and general insurance categories. Managing all covers under one relationship means coverage overlaps, under-insurance, and lapsed renewals are more likely to be caught at a review than missed until a claim.
